The Arundel Vocal Arts Society's 25th Anniversary celebration season
will conclude with a blast! "Let's Have a Blast" will feature some of
the singers' favorite selections from the past, guaranteed to have you
rollin' in the aisles. Singers have pulled out and dusted off such
oldies but goodies as "Rock and Roll is Here to Stay," "Shake, Rattle,
and Roll," and "It's a Grand Night for Singing" from Rodgers &
Hammerstein's State Fair. The ladies will render a spirited "Boogie
Woogie Bugle Boy," while the men, not to be outdone, will deliver a
manly version of "Manley Men." Singers have also chosen "I Love a
Piano," and selections from Ragtime as favorites of past audiences.
However, a word of warning to our audience: some of the music might
sound familiar at first (such as "The Complete History of Western
Music") but, be sure and listen closely. Moreover, if you've never
heard the words to "The William Tell Overture (or if you didn't know
there were words to "The William Tell Overture"), you do not want to
miss this event!
The concert will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 7:00 P.M., at the
Calvary United Methodist Church, 301 Rowe Boulevard, Annapolis, MD.
Tickets are a tax deductible donation of $15.00 and may be purchased
